Date Seeds Drinking as Antidiabetic: A Systematic Review

For thousands of years, the fruits (dates) of the date palm were consumed as a staple food and believed to have remarkable nutritional health and economic value.​
Recent studies indicate that date seeds contain significant beneficial food ingredients such as oleic acid, dietary fibers, and polyphenols.​
These compounds have been associated with reduced incidence of cardiovascular diseases and improved overall well-being.
Date seeds have lately been exploited to produce foods such as bread and hot beverages without impairment to sensory characteristics.​
Useful in treating blood sugar problems
It is said that active substances such as high Flavonoids and Phenolics can improve Oxidative stress in pancreatic beta cells so that it can restore insulin production, further, consumption of date seeds has the potential to reduce blood glucose levels in hyper-glycemic patients and does not change the glycemic index in normal people. It means that Date Seeds are beneficial for both Diabetic and Non-diabetic people.

Prevent DNA damage
Date seeds are rich in antioxidants that prevent damage to the body’s DNA structure. Furthermore, date seeds are effective in boosting the immune system and nerves because they have numerous minerals. The nutritional value of dates and their kernels has made this fruit a valuable food source.
Prevent kidney stones and liver damage
Dates seeds help treatment for kidney stones and bladder diseases. Date kernels contain several medicinal compounds, one of which acts like corticosteroids and is used to treat kidney and bladder disorders, inflammation, and infectious diseases. The palm kernel has a crushing property and helps to break it down more easily by breaking and crushing the stones. Date seed is full of Proanthocyanidins which helps to keep safe liver and kidney from any damage.
Antioxidants
Despite the small size of seeds Date seeds are good sources of antioxidants. Research shows that the antioxidant of date seed protein hydrolysates can be used as a potential functional food ingredient for health improvement. ​

Date seeds fiber
The date seed, which makes up 10-15% of the date’s weight, contains an average of 1.73% dietary fiber. We can say date kernels are a rich source of dietary fiber.

Dosage:

For fitness freaks 10-13 grams half an hour before workout and again 10-13 grams half an hour post-workout.

For normal people, 8-10 grams can be taken with warm milk or warm water with or without honey on an empty stomach which provides a good source of energy.
